Socheat focuses on the energy sector and on retail, consumer goods, distribution and franchise.
She has advised and assisted clients from a market entry advice to implementation, i.e. project development of both renewable and non-renewable source of energy. Among other things, her key experiences on solar energy projects range from advice on regulatory compliance, reviewing and revising of project documents such as implementation agreement (IA) and power purchase agreement (PPA), to advice on breach and termination and conduct of legal due diligence for M&A transaction or financing.
She also has extensive experience in regulatory and compliance advice in hospitality, education, retail and transport, among other sectors. Socheat also has experiences working with certain ministries such as Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Environment as well as development partners/agencies and international organizations, e.g. the World Bank Group and Agence Française de Développement (AFD) Group funds for projects in the areas of her practice.
Socheat holds a Master in Comparative Law from Nagoya University, Japan. She also is a qualified trademark agent in Cambodia and an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb), a leading professional membership organization representing the interests of alternative dispute practitioners worldwide, since 2014. She is fluent in English and Khmer.
